Health and wellness influencers make a statement

It’s not often that Husskie gets asked to be in front of the camera rather than behind it, so we were pretty thrilled when we got contacted to be a part of the #itscooltobekind collaboration between First Base and The Human Kind Project. Gathering influencers and media from the fitness, health, and wellness space – the collaboration saw a group shoot taking place at Bondi Beach last week to help raise awareness about the #itscooltobekind movement.

So what is this movement? First Base has been promoting its vision #itscooltobekind since it entered into ethical and sustainable business and design practices in 2015. In collaboration with The Human Kind Project, First Base has designed a 100% organic cotton tee with the words ‘It’s cool to be kind’ printed on the front. All of the proceeds from the sale of this tee will go towards programs that educate, empower and nurture women and girls in India.

“It costs only $150 to put a young girl through school for a whole year in India – so we have the opportunity to make a really big difference with the awareness and sales of these tees,” says Human Kind Project founder Jacinta McDonell.

First Base founder Ali Cotton adds, “2018 for us is about continuing to give back – and by partnering with The Human Kind Project, we are able to assist communities around the globe in a truly meaningful way.”

Launching via the First Base website today, influencers involved in the campaign include Tess Begg, The Fit Foodie Blog’s Sal O’Neil, Brown Paper Nutrition’s Jacqueline Alwill, Active Yogi’s Kate Kendall, Liv Phyland, and Teigan Nash.
