It may be renowned for its Rich List, 30 Under 30 List, and Power List, but Forbes’ quarterly Top Influencers List is fast gaining widespread attention as the go-to place to discover which people have utilised a social media following to create an empire.
Recently releasing its third Top Influencers report, the publication named 30 influencers across the categories of Fashion, Parenting and Pets. Influencers featured in the list include those who have built their fame from the internet (rather than celebrities who happen to have a large online audience from people knowing them outside of the world wide web. This is a similar policy to Husskie’s take on influencers).
To come up with the list, Forbes teamed up with influencer analytics firm Tracker to measure reach, resonance and engagement – while also using social insight platform Captiv8 to determine a candidate’s potential for earnings per post. An influencer’s endorsements and other business offerings were also taken into account.
