Day 1 of MBFWA saw a host of familiar faces descend on Carriageworks – as top style influencers and content creators arrived to check out the upcoming Resort collections for 2018/19 from local fashion houses.
Proving why Australian fashion brands continue to pull the international buyers in, each show had guests leaving impressed as the likes of Bianca Spender, Lee Mathews, Anna Quan, Michael Lo Sordo, and Alice McCall hit the runway.
And just as the runway fashion held much appreciation, so too did the street fashion – with this year seeing people erring less towards shock tactics and instead decked out in highly wearable pieces with a splash of colour or pretty frocks and suits with feminine tailoring.
Below, we round-up some of the best street style looks from Day 1 at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. Featuring: Ally May Carey, Amelia Strofield, Anna Heinrich, Carissa Walford, Carmen Hamilton, Donny Galella, Elle Ferguson, Ellie Gonsalves, Fakander, Hannah Perera, Harper & Harley’s Sara Crampton, Helen Chikx, Jaime Ridge, Jessi Webb, Laura Snelling, Maya Gypsy, Michaela Wain, Miss Gunner’s Ashley Schuberg, Nadia Fairfax, Nikki Phillips, Rozalia Russian, Tegan Phillipa, The Trendspotter, Yan Yan Chan and Yasmin Suteja.
