When you’re just starting out, it can be very hard for a small business to gain traction in a competitive market. And without spending thousands of dollars on marketing, you may have the best brand in the world – but aside from your mum’s closest circle of friends, it’s hard to get on people’s radar.
That is unless, of course, you have influencers fall in love with your brand organically – with no cash being exchanged. A feat that Airlie Fashion is currently experiencing despite having only launched to market in August last year. Six months later and owner and designer Stacey McWilliams continues to be blown away by the overwhelming support she has received from influencers – with none of them requesting payment on any occasion.
“When we launched Airlie in August 2016, we were unsure of how we would be perceived in the social space as a new fashion label when there is so much competition from local and international brands,” Stacey tells Husskie.
“We have been so lucky that Airlie has been embraced by such a cross section of influencers who all have such unique senses of style. It’s so great for us to see how a top or dress can be styled/interpreted in so many different ways, which will then appeal to so many different women.
“Having the unpaid support of local influencers has really helped our business and social platforms in the early days by being able to showcase their diverse content and genuine brand love.”
