With a cool minimal and seemingly effortless street style, Day in My Dreams blogger and influencer Kristina Petrick has one of those accounts that just beckons you to tap to see what brand is behind the highly covetable piece she’s just adorned. But while predominantly focused on fashion, we’ve begun seeing a few beauty products sneaking into Kristina’s feed – which had us begging for a chat about her go-to’s in the skin and cosmetics department.
Here, we get Kristina to chat us through everything you can find in her makeup bag (yes, even the bag itself… what can we say – we’re thorough).
“I love a tote big enough to hold my laptop. I have this one from Dagne Dover that has been my go-to, with a padded laptop compartment and other pockets perfect for organised travel… plus the leather is super luxurious.”
“I love the Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil. I find it’s a great moisturiser for dry skin, and keeps my sun damage under control while evening my skin tone.”
“My current go-to for skin is a BB cream – though I’ve yet to get settled on a specific brand loyalty. It really depends on the season, how dry my skin is, and where I’m going. Sometimes I go for a powder, sometimes nothing at all!”
“Kat Von D has an amazing bronzer and highlighter kit – and for once I actually use every shade in the palette! It’s a great natural tone, and goes on without showing a powder residue.”
“Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is my lifesaver! Whether I’m going for a cat-eye or just filling between lashes, it’s easy to apply and it stays on all day.”
“My friends use to laugh at me for using this product, and now they all get it! – but Himalaya Lip Balm is a lifesaver for chapped lips. I use to dry out on the daily, now I don’t remember the last time they were dry. I picked up my first tube in India during one of my travels, only because I had lost the one in my purse – I was so excited to discover you can now buy it in the US!
“Eyebrows are my biggest accessory. Literally. NYX recently sent me a brow pencil with a mascara brush on the other side that’s great for a light application and drawing fine lines. I’ve also used TréStiQue Define, Sculpt & Set Brow Pencil for a more dramatic brow. I don’t travel without either one!”
SOMETHING YOU CAN’T LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT:
“I often go with little or no makeup, but also enjoy playing with a full face from time to time! I won’t leave my house for any journey without lip balm, a brow pencil, and facial moisturiser. Keep your skin healthy and go for that natural glow!”
