And that’s a wrap! Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia ended with a bang this evening with Romance Was Born bringing the theatre to Carriageworks – delivering everything from naked girls to rainbow dancers to an array of clothing that sparkled and shimmied its way down the catwalk.
But the final day really brought with it the full spectrum – from the uber cool streetwear for Ten Pieces, to a colourful spectacle at Dyspnea, and then into the evening with a sophisticated array of prints, patterns and textures at Akira… there was something for every stylista.
Over in the beauty department, it was the wild hair and bold makeup by KMS and SEPHORA at Romance Was Born that got our number one vote, but we were also a big fan of the lived in hair and slept-in makeup by Redken and M.A.C at Ten Pieces. (FACT: The girl models did actually sleep in their makeup for this show. They all got their eyes attended to the night before by MAC senior artist Carol Mackie in order for them to have that perfect “lived-in” appearance.)
It was a pretty quiet on the blogger and influencer front throughout the day, but our stand-out pieces went to Eleanor Pendleton’s Camilla & Marc mum jeans, Mimi Elashiry’s Pseudo jacket, and Jessica Kahawaty’s Style Mafia striped shirt (always stripes for the win for the Husskie team).
