1. Best beauty product of all time? Good skincare is important, but for me it’d probably be my brow pomade as it makes such a big difference to my face as I have quite sparse brows naturally.
2. Five beauty products you can’t live without? Anastasia brow pomade, a good foundation (I have way too many), Sunday Riley Luna night oil, bronzer and a nude matte lip colour.
3. Hair “done” or messy? Messy
4. Makeup or no makeup? Makeup – it’s all or nothing
5. Statement eye or statement lip? A statement eye and a natural nude lip
6. Favourite fragrance? Marc Jacobs daisy dream + Viktor and Rolf flowerbomb were my all time favourites for a long time, but this year I’m loving Le Labo’s Rose 31
7. Favourite item of clothing? A pair of well-fitting blue jeans
8. Favourite fashion brand? I don’t have a single favourite brand, but I’d say Gucci is definitely killing it at the moment and on everyone’s wish list. Asides from that, I love Christopher Esber and Dion Lee as they make beautiful pieces that are always really cool and flatter the female body. (Zara is also great as they have such a wide variety of options and always on trend)
9. Sneakers or heels? Sneakers
10. Dress or jeans? It’s 50/50 for me – I love both equally
11. Gym or exercising outdoors? Gym because it forces me to actually be productive
12. Yoga or running? I’d like to say yoga, but it’s running for me – it really clears my mind and makes me feel great afterwards
13. Healthy eating or treating yourself? A good balance of both
14. Can you cook? I’m not the best cook when it comes to dinner foods, but I can bake pretty well and assemble nice ‘brunch’-esque foods. I try to make some form of smoothie bowl every day, I haven’t gotten sick of it just yet!
15. Favourite food? Hmm, I love a good roasted potato, pad thai and anything Japanese
16. Favourite drink? Tea
17. Best place to eat out? I love eating Asian cuisines, so Jinda is my favourite for Thai, Samurai in Hawthorn for Japanese, Mr Miyagi for their tempura broccoli, and Supernormal for their dumplings
18. Happiest moment? The ones spent with loved ones (and usually accompanied by good food)
19. Saddest moment? I’m lucky enough to be able to say that I haven’t had any significant sad moments in my life as of yet, but I do think the sad moments in life make the happier moments in life more memorable
20. Instagram or Snapchat? Instagram
21. Blog or YouTube? I personally blog, but I prefer watching Youtube as I can mindlessly watch and eat simultaneously
22. iPhone or camera? iPhone for the convenience, but I always love seeing how my camera can take such beautiful photos
23. Type of camera? I use Canon Mark III 5D
24. VSCO cam or Snapseed? Snapseed
25. Facetune or untouched? I don’t have Facetune so I’d have to say untouched, but if I do any re-touching it will be on Lightroom
26. Shooting on-the-go or location scouting? Both. Sometimes on-the-go produces more natural content
27. 9-5 job or full-time influencer? I am currently still at uni (studying commerce, majoring in marketing) so all my spare time is spent blogging. People always ask me how I juggle both, but I find blogging is a great break from often, quite dry subjects at uni. I get to be creative and do something that I love
28. How did you get into blogging? I’m sure a lot of people say this, but I kind of fell into it naturally around three years ago. I had always posted the occasional flatlay and OOTD shot in my early days on Instagram (definitely had my friends joke about it on more than one occasion) – but as I posted more, I gained more of a following and that’s how it started I guess
29. How much time goes into a normal picture found on your Instagram account? Depends what kind of image it is. Usually, a photo would take around 30 mins to 1.5 hour including time to prepare, shoot and edit. An interior shot might take a bit longer than a coffee shot as I would have to spend a while organising the area and perfecting the shot
30. Most exciting moment since being an influencer? Making friends with like-minded people and working with brands that I’ve loved for years
31. Most terrifying moment since being an influencer? In the beginning when you didn’t know anyone, going to events was terrifying for me as I wouldn’t know what to do and would feel so awkward standing alone. Over the years you learn that everyone starts in the same position and there’s no harm in being the first to start a conversation
32. Best campaign you’ve ever worked on? Being chosen as the style ambassador for Melbourne’s shopping district St. Collins Lane that opened in 2016 was definitely the best campaign that I’ve worked on to date. It was such a widely circulated campaign; it was surreal to see myself on billboards and bus stops. It was nerve racking the whole time, but an experience that I don’t regret
33. The best gift you’ve ever received as an influencer? Being gifted shoes and clothes are always great, but it’s the experiential gifts that stay with you the longest. For me, going hot air ballooning and watching the sunrise for the Day Management christmas party in 2015 was pretty incredible. To top it off, the day was filled with great food and a bunch of great girls.
34. Favourite film? I’m a sucker for Disney films as well as anything rom-com so ‘Princess Diaries’ and ‘She’s the Man’ tops my list
35. Favourite book? I read quite a lot of books, but the book that has stayed with me the most would probably be ‘Chinese Cinderella’ by Adeline Yen Mah, purely because it was my favourite book as a kid and I’ve read it over five times
36. Favourite song? Way too many
37. Favourite band? I like quite a broad range of genres so it’s hard to pick a single artist. But if it had to be, my favourite band for the longest time was Swedish duo First Aid Kit. Nowadays, I listen to anything from top 50 to classical to what Spotify calls “deep house/ tropical”
38. Living in the city or living by the beach? Living in the city
39. Summer or winter? Winter. Love a girl some layers
40. Ocean or swimming pool? The ocean is beautiful, but how deep and unknown it is freaks me out a little so I’d have to say swimming pool
41. Favourite travel destination? Anywhere in Europe, but Paris is my favourite so far
42. Going out clubbing or quiet dinner with friends? Quiet dinner with friends for sure
43. Partner or single? Partner
44. Siblings? Single child
45. What city are you currently living in? Melbourne, Australia
46. Celebrity girl crush? Bella Hadid (her style is amazing)
47. Celebrity boy crush? Austin Butler (won me over on ‘The Carrie Diaries’)
48. Pets? I don’t have any pets (asides from a goldfish), but I’m a big cat person so hopefully I can get my own cat one day
49. Top five Instagram accounts to follow? I like to follow a lot of food/healthy eating Instagrams, (@elsas_wholesomelife and @lumadeline are some of my faves), otherwise I love to see what @maragaret__zhang brings up next – she’s so talented as well as @harperandharley for minimal fashion and @ohhcouture for the most amazing travel photos
50. Favourite quote you live by? “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind” – Dr. Seuss
