Style Spotlight: The Lizzy van der Ligt effect explained
The synthesis of zany creativity and timeless taste has propelled Lizzy van der Ligt into our spotlight. A thriving influencer, vlogger and stylist, Lizzy is the modern-day triple threat. An expert in communicating mood through clothing compilations, we scroll through Lizzy’s socials with burgeoning intrigue.
Today, it’s time to delve beyond the grid of this Netherlands-dwelling fashion junkie and discern a few sources of our fascination. Here, we take a look at the five facets of Lizzy’s signature style that has this one firmly on the style watch list…
1. She’s not afraid to dress on the wild side
Lizzy’s Instagram grid is a farrago of colours and textures. Somehow, each colliding print and contrasting accessory results in a sort of organised, cutting-edge chaos that isn’t all that easy to recreate at whim. Leopard has never looked so good.
2. Lizzy is a dreamer: Like many style mavens, this gal aspires to move to the capital of berets and croissants one day: Paris. Her ballpark dream job? Working at French Vogue as a stylist. Mon dieu, we’ll come too.
3. The girl can design
Earlier this year, Lizzy was invited by Liebeskind Berlin to design her very own ‘It’ bag, channeling her creative flair and adoration for accessories. She also pioneers her own clothing label: Le Cafe Noir Studio.
4. Denim is her religion
“I’m a true Levi’s lover,” Lizzy confesses. The old-school, retro feel of her denim picks blend seamlessly with Lizzy’s vintage-wash Insta aesthetic.
5. These passions are grown by nurture
Lizzy owes her love for fashion to her preceding generations. She recalls both her mother and grandmother regularly venturing to Amsterdam to embark on shopping sprees, and her mother once dabbling in modelling for the sake of funding a Chanel obsession. “My mother dresses more feminine and my grandma’s style is funkier; she’ll easily rock a hat and a suit,” Lizzy says.
